VÆRIDION and MT-Propeller to evaluate “Silent 7” propeller system integration for the Microliner
Paris, June 18, 2025: VÆRIDION, an all-electric aircraft manufacturer, and MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH, a leading German manufacturer of natural composite propeller systems, have signed a joint statement to explore the integration of the “Silent 7” propeller system into VÆRIDION’s Microliner. The collaboration was announced yesterday at the Paris Air Show.
Key highlights:
- The statement outlines a shared commitment to evaluate the integration of the “Silent 7” constant-speed propeller into VÆRIDION’s Microliner.
- Both companies will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the multidisciplinary aspects relevant to the integration of MT-Propeller’s state-of-the art propeller with VÆRIDION’s innovative multi-engine single propeller powerplant system.
- The Silent 7 is a next-generation propeller well suited for regional electric flight, offering high propulsive efficiency, ultra-low noise, and is configured with a fail-safe pitch control architecture.
- Collaborative innovation within the Bavarian aerospace cluster not only accelerates development cycles but also strengthens the region’s leadership in sustainable aviation on a European and global scale.
VÆRIDION is pioneering a unique approach to regional aviation by introducing an innovative 100% electric aircraft built on proven technology. Its innovative propulsion system—a single propeller powered by multiple electric engines and a direct-drive transmission—was assessed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as part of a Pre-Application Contract concluded in 2024. With this innovative architecture, VÆRIDION is paving the way for certification-ready prototype flights by 2027, aiming for its first commercial flight in 2030.
The 7-blade “Silent 7” is a next-generation propeller, known for its remarkable performance, low-noise and smooth operation, which combined with MT-Propeller’s proven natural composite blade technology makes it ideal for electric flight. These characteristics align well with the Microliner’s mission profile and are crucial for achieving the sustainability and performance targets necessary for future-ready electric aviation.
Martin Albrecht, MT Propeller Vice President said: “We are keen to accept the challenge designing a propeller for a 100% electric powered aircraft with our broad experience in this area. Target is to find a suitable solution fulfilling enhanced efficiency, noise, weight and vibration requirements.”
As one of the most critical components for energy-efficient flight, the propeller plays a central role in enabling viable commercial operations of electric aircraft. By partnering with MT-Propeller, VÆRIDION leverages decades of proven experience and a legacy of excellence in the design and certification of advanced propeller systems for general aviation.
“Our goal is to integrate the best technologies available to optimize every aspect of the Microliner. MT-Propeller brings unparalleled expertise to this effort, and we’re proud to have them engaged in the project from an early stage.” said Markus Kochs-Kämper, CTO of VÆRIDION.
As both companies are based in Bavaria, this partnership underscores the strength of the Bavarian aerospace ecosystem—where world-class suppliers, innovative start-ups, and research institutions are working together to redefine the future of flight. By joining forces, the companies are accelerating the development of electric propulsion technologies that meet the performance, efficiency, and regulatory demands of next-generation regional aircraft.
